Deductible: The dollar amount you pay each calendar year before insurance begins to pay for certain health services. You pay the plan deductible first then coinsurance (%) or a copay may apply. Some services don’t have a deductible, such as wellness checkups, immunizations and medication for certain health conditions. Check My Benefits for details.
Copay: A fixed amount you pay for a covered health care service usually at the time of the visit. You may (or may not) have to meet a deductible first. Check My Benefits for details.
Coinsurance: A percentage of the cost you pay for covered medical services (20% for example) after you have paid the deductible amount. Check My Benefits for details.
In-Network: A group of physicians, hospitals and other health care providers that offer our members discounted rates (known as the Allowed Amount), so you pay less out-of-pocket.
